Undergraduate Students: 

Our undergraduate researchers are a vital part of our lab community, and often stay on in the lab as RAs or graduate students! We are always looking for keen students from Duke and neighboring schools to engage in research!

The Drea Lab can offer undergraduates research experiences through a variety of ways:

• Honors thesis: Seniors can work closely with Dr. Drea across a full academic year on an independent research project. We typically have 1-3 thesis students in a given year. 
  
• Independent study: Not a senior, but still want to conduct an independent research project for credit? Consider an Independent Study! Often, lower classmen in our lab start with independent studies and end up staying with us for a senior thesis! 
• Volunteer: Looking for a lab experience without the stress of course credit? We have had plenty of volunteers who work on research projects, usually helping out our graduate students in their dissertation research. This is a great way to find out if you like research (or our lab) and many of our volunteers end up conducting research for credit in subsequent semesters.
• Work-study: Occasionally we can support a work-study student in the lab for a variety of tasks! 

If you are interested in either researching with us for credit or in volunteering you should contact Dr. Drea. Alternately, if you are interested in working with a particular lab member (e.g. post-doc or graduate student), please contact us directly!
